What if William Shakespeare didn’t write the plays attributed to him? And, if he didn’t write them, why was the true author’s name deleted from the greatest plays ever written in the English language? “He didn’t write them you know,” a Smithsonian researcher I was dating looked across the restaurant table and flatly stated. “What do you mean, he didn’t write them? Of course he wrote them.” “Believe what you want to believe,” she said, adjusting her napkin in her lap. “If you want to stay naïve, that’s entirely up to you.” True or false, fact or rumor, the case against Shakespeare as the playwright had apparently convinced one bright Smithsonian researcher that the true authorship lay in another direction. I had always wanted to write a historical novel. Skeptical or not, maybe this was the time and this was the subject. Body of Evidence is the story that led me to England on the adventure of a lifetime.

Bruce Hutchison brings us right into his personal detective story. Here is the great opening: "Sometimes you turn a corner on an ordinary day and something grabs you by your shoulders and yanks you off course in a way that changes everything. You suddenly follow a new and unexpected path, not knowing where it will lead..." And that's all I needed to read before settling back and letting the rest take care of itself, as I moved step by step with him into what he admits may well be "a fool's journey" into the Shakespeare authorship question and the evidence for Edward de Vere, 17th Earl of Oxford as the real author. In the best tradition of mystery-suspense novels, Hutchinson keeps it personal and specific and real. He is a storyteller. And we follow the clues along with him, as he journeys to England and follows the trail. I encourage you to join the fun, gaining valuable information and insight along the way, on Bruce's Grand Adventure!

J Robbins Another piece of absolute garbage from Hutchinaon. When will he stop? From the description:What if William Shakespeare didn’t write the plays attributed to him?>>What if Marlowe did not write Marlowe. Dante, Dante. Cervantes, Cervantes? Jonson, Jonson? Why don't you go through every author who has ever written a try to prove THEY did not write the works they are attributed with? Why just Shakespeare? Special pleading. And, if he didn’t write them, why was the true author’s name deleted>>Deleted? Prove it. You guys have total lack of evidence but it does not seem to bother you. Well, none of you are scholars but mere amateurs. from the greatest plays ever written in the English language? “He didn’t write them you know,” a Smithsonian researcher I was dating looked across the restaurant table and flatly stated. “>>Wow!!! What evidence you got. An unknown Smithsonian researcher (sorry that's not kosher for us scholars) she tells you Shakespeare did not write the plays, and you instantly believed her. Wanted to get her into bed? What do you mean, he didn’t write them? Of course he wrote them.” “Believe what you want to believe,” she said, adjusting her napkin in her lap. “If you want to stay naïve, that’s entirely up to you.” True or false, fact or rumor, the case against Shakespeare as the playwright had apparently convinced one bright Smithsonian researcher that the true authorship lay in another direction. I had always wanted to write a historical novel. Skeptical or not, maybe this was the time and this was the subject. Body of Evidence is the story that led me to England on the adventure of a lifetime.>>Oh, I see. Your girfriend is right all the time. You never question her. Just because she works at the Smithsonian. There are names for people like you, Hutchinson. I can't say them here. Smart people believe stupid things. That is not more apparent than here on Amazon re: the SAQ. How many scientists think Shakespeare did not write the plays? Who cares. They may be smart in their own fields of knowledge, but when they jump out they are just like everybody else, unless they spend their entire lives living and teaching Elizabethan literature and theater and William Shakespeare.+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++Reading some "Look Inside", I started to laugh. This is elementary, my dear Hutchinson. All this has gone through. The pen name, the hyphen....There was no need for one. Many plays were submitted anonymously to Shakespeares's troupe. The early Hamlet, King Leir, and Caesar and Pompey were anonymous. Many of Shakespeare's early plays in quarto form did not have his name on them. It first appeared on "Love's Labour's Lost" in 1598, after he had been writing plays for most of the 1590's. There is no mystery here. The "stigma of print" nonsense is just that. There was no such thing. Aristocrats could publish poetry, whatever. This book is just another attempt by Hutchinson to write a pseudo-fictional novel, which actually is a piece of pro-Oxfordian propaganda. It may entertain you, but don't be fooled. The author is trying to hoodwink you into believing that Oxford wrote Shakespeare. Caveat Emptor. This guy is no scholar, seems to know very little about Elizabethan literature and the theater back then, or about Shakespeare, and for this reason, this book is dangereous, evil, and deceptive if taken literally. Accept it as a work of complete fiction, even its conclusions., and you should be okay.William Shakespere wrote the plays with his name on them, hyphen or no hyphen. No Oxfordian has been able to prove that he didn't. And no Oxfordian has shown me one single iota of objective evidence that Oxford had anything to do with the plays. NADA. So you can believe Hutchinson's girlfriend....ooo!...the Smithsonian researcher....I'm shakin' in my boots!!! Or you can believe 99.2 percent of the scholars, academics, and professional educators in the world. It is your choice.

The search for the authentic Shakespeare By virginia Blatchley As a lover of Shakespeare I was fascinated by the search for the authentic Shakespeare. It was a book of curiosity and intrigue. The development of the main character and his search for the truth was full of suspense. When it was over it left me wishing for more.
